Roma espress-o

Pizza, Pasta, and this thing.

Way out of my current budget, but still on my ‘better check it out’ list, was a little town called Rome.
Gladiators, Coliseum, Julius Caesar, home-made Gelato, it’s kind of a significant place..
I’m almost ashamed to say that I’d never been to Rome before, but past trips just haven’t taken me down to Europe’s boot, so in true backpacker style, I dove back into the hostels, crashed a few couches, held a map and walked around endlessly.

This is what I came up with..

Camera:Lomo LCA
Film: Fuji Superia X-Tra 400
Location: Rome, Italy. April 2010.
Photoshop: None.

Spanish Steps

One of the koolest things about Rome is that you can drink the water from every fountain in the city (except Trevi). They’re supplied from “Acqua Vergine” aqueduct which is pure drinking-water.
It is soo good that you wont even consider buying bottled water once you’ve tried it, its constantly cool, and just that tastes that much.. less?

Worlds smallest country – Vatican City

What up Ceasar

and this definitely isn’t Rome, but I couldn’t fit it anywhere else..
Thunderstorm at Tower of Pisa. Until you are next to this thing in real life, you just don’t realise how silly it looks.

Go to Italy, eat Gelato, drink Espresso, get a bowl of Bolegnese, you’ll have a good time.

    wonderful sightings and observations…
seriously who thought the leaning tower could be a tourist must see after centuries.

Surely they gave the world an offer – that could not be refused (from Godfather I)

Like the clarity and color in your shots of Rome! Also struck by how you managed to get shots of major sights without too many other people/tourists obscuring them. Found that difficult on our trip to La Dolce Vita. Rome presented endless photo opps, no?

    Thank you!

I’m impressed that you managed to make the Spanish Steps look really pretty. I saw them and was like, “oh.” :)
