Note to self: Middle East in Summer is hot.

I’ve arrived back in Syria safe and sound. The rest of the Iraq posts and Video Diary’s are on hold until I can work out how to upload to youtube in a country where online censorship runs riot.
But for now, here’s just a few clicks from the couple days around Syria before I left.
Damas Souq, like walking through quicksand

Why wouldn’t you dry your bread on the side of the road?

Lake Al-Assad – (any other travelers reading this, its worth the effort just to swim)

Our minibus-diver, come, photography-on-the-go-enthusiast

That’s all for now.
Tell me what you want to see more of?

I came here from the WP travel board. Nice pics— love the one of the pita. =D
I’m very happy w all yr gorgeous pics u capture the essence of every place u visit just keep them coming I live vicariously thru yr trips xx
wow..wonderful pictures and efforts. Good to see you completing your Iraq voyage
You want to know where to go?
Pick a place like Turkey, since you are close, and go north, and either to the left or right.
It’s summer, maybe a good time for the Baltics. I would like to see more of the Balkans — Transylvania? That’s historic in a way. And, then there’s those little former Russsian places where people live so very long. Remember, Georgia, to Americans is a state just north of Florida.
Hommus varies so much from country to country.
But it’s always one of the best foods in the world.
Thanks for including it in this post.
