A year on the road and counting.

Its been a bit over a year on the road now, so I thought I’d repost a few random pics from the early days – Nepal, Tibet, India, Pakistan.
Back then it felt like forever, now it seems like another world ago.
En route Mt. Everest. Sunburnt and snowed on at the same time.

Tibet gets Epic.

Kali Gandaki, Nepal – days and days of rafting, ultimate fun.

The closest you get to India might be stepping into a taxi in Melbourne, but if you do make it to the worlds most polluted country, the Taj is legit.

so is Le Corbusier’s Chandigarh

a 9 hour bus ride turns into 4 days. Lowarii Pass, Pakistan

Giligit, Pakistan – We got locked in the hostel this night because it was too dangerous outside. All we could hear was gunfire, it was sweet.

Peshawar, Pakistan – Iraq ain’t going nothing on this place. Shit gets bloown up here.
Market place bombing, 3 days before I arrive.

Beef Karahi, when its good, its real good.

Little biscuit thieves, Tibet.

It’s been a good year, and right now just got a whole lot better..

I commend you for digesting that beef karhai from old city Peshawar (Qisa Khawani, Chowk Yadgar, Firdous, Hashtangari Bazar). Namak Mandi then is real authentic karahi but I agree if this road-side road-sit-in Karhai is good, then its really good. Gilgit is a peaceful town otherwise but seems you were there at a wrong time. I saw other pictures of Lowari Pass…oh man! This road is a beauty in summer! The pictures of fresh chapati (bread) made me hungry. Great pictures, great adventure.
Jealous! I have been gone 3 months now haha its nothing but the start of my trip seems like forever ago.
If you have time you should email me I would love to have a discussion with you about a few things. : )
Dane.

haha, yeah dude, that place was a dump.
Your video (and blog) is sweet, great editing, my little netbook chokes on the video a bit so its hard for me to do anything too crazy.
Hope the rest of your travels are great as well.
Cheers, Matt.
